Queen Elizabeth seasonal highlights — a year in review
I've been growing Queen Elizabeth for a full year now and want to capture what each season offered. first flush of blooms in late spring was the clear high point — everything you're told about Queen Elizabeth at that time of year is true. But the plant has something to offer in every season, which I hadn't expected.
strong disease-resistant root stock is consistent throughout the year, which is one of its real strengths. I've settled on a cottage garden mixed planting with lavender as the ideal position. deep watering at the base rather than overhead was the lesson I took into next year. powdery mildew in humid summers is the only thing that interrupted the enjoyment. Otherwise: excellent.
