Honest review: Aloe Vera is rewarding but mealybug infestations in leaf crevices is real
Aloe Vera is a genuinely satisfying plant to grow, but I want to be upfront about one thing: mealybug infestations in leaf crevices. I've dealt with it twice now and it takes consistent attention to manage.
Beyond that, easy propagation from leaf cuttings makes it one of my favourites in the collection. I keep it in an office desk with a grow light which suits it well. Learning about providing at least six hours of bright indirect light has been essential. dormancy and reduced watering in winter is worth waiting for — the plant really justifies itself then. Four stars because of that persistent issue.
