I don't have a garden so a vertical living wall frame is my only option for Aloe Vera. It absolutely works — with the right attention to using a gritty well-draining cactus compost mix you can get excellent results in containers.

easy propagation from leaf cuttings is fully achievable even in a pot. surprising flower spikes in late spring is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: root rot from overwatering and poor drainage. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
