Overrated for ease, underrated for beauty — String of Pearls
People describe String of Pearls as easy and I'd push back on that slightly. providing at least six hours of bright indirect light needs consistent attention and leaf drop in cold or draughty positions can undermine progress quickly if ignored.
Where String of Pearls is genuinely underrated is the beauty. wide range of colours from blue-grey to red is extraordinary when you see it in person. I display it in a vertical living wall frame and it gets comments from everyone who sees it. surprising flower spikes in late spring is the time to really understand what this plant offers. Not for the truly neglectful gardener, but absolutely worth the attention it requires.
