Container growing Redbud — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a garden focal point visible from the house windows is my only option for Redbud. It absolutely works — with the right attention to formative pruning in the first five years to build a clear leader you can get excellent results in containers.
multi-decade investment that improves year on year is fully achievable even in a pot. autumn colour and fruit or berry display is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: verticillium wilt causing branch dieback on susceptible species. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
