I don't have a garden so a hotel lobby-style statement interior display is my only option for Bird of Paradise. It absolutely works — with the right attention to providing high humidity through pebble trays or regular misting you can get excellent results in containers.

natural air-purifying properties noted in indoor conditions is fully achievable even in a pot. flowering period in peak summer heat is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: spider mite infestations in hot dry conditions. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
