Slow start but a stunning finish with Heliconia

The first few months with Heliconia were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting protecting from cold draughts and air conditioning vents right was the turning point.

fast growth in warm humid conditions became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a summer patio with shelter from wind and cold nights it gets the attention it deserves. bringing back indoors before first autumn frost was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: failure to flower indoors without sufficient light intensity. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
