Honest review: Traveller's Palm is rewarding but leaf browning from low humidity in centrally heated rooms is real
Traveller's Palm is a genuinely satisfying plant to grow, but I want to be upfront about one thing: leaf browning from low humidity in centrally heated rooms. I've dealt with it twice now and it takes consistent attention to manage.
Beyond that, dramatic large leaves or flowers that create an instant impact makes it one of my favourites in the collection. I keep it in a summer patio with shelter from wind and cold nights which suits it well. Learning about maintaining temperatures above 15°C throughout the year has been essential. reduced watering rest period in winter is worth waiting for — the plant really justifies itself then. Four stars because of that persistent issue.
