I brought Cucumber home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding rotating crops each year to prevent soil-borne disease build-up — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.

I grow it in a decorative potager with flowers and vegetables mixed and the position has been ideal. productive over a long season with successive sowing is what keeps drawing me back to it. sowing under cover from late winter for early crops was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: slug and snail damage on young seedlings caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
