Beginner success with Kale — here is what helped

As a complete beginner I was nervous about starting with Kale. It turned out to be more forgiving than I expected, as long as I paid attention to feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser once flowering begins.

I grow mine in a raised bed in full sun with good-quality compost which is working really well. far superior flavour versus supermarket produce was a genuine surprise — I didn't expect it to look or perform like that. clearing beds and preparing soil with compost in autumn has been the highlight so far. My biggest mistake early on was ignoring blossom end rot from irregular watering and calcium deficiency, which I'd recommend addressing immediately.
