Here are my notes from twelve months of growing Kale:

Spring: peak harvest in mid to late summer. This was the moment that confirmed the whole venture. I focused on rotating crops each year to prevent soil-borne disease build-up during this period which set up the rest of the year.

far superior flavour versus supermarket produce developed steadily through the warmer months. blossom end rot from irregular watering and calcium deficiency appeared in summer and required prompt treatment. The plant in an allotment plot with companion planting performed better than I'd expected for the position. Overall: a rewarding year. The investment of attention is paid back generously.
