Slow start but a stunning finish with Kale
The first few months with Kale were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser once flowering begins right was the turning point.
far superior flavour versus supermarket produce became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a raised bed in full sun with good-quality compost it gets the attention it deserves. clearing beds and preparing soil with compost in autumn was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: blight in warm wet summers especially on tomatoes. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
