Slow start but a stunning finish with Sweet Corn
The first few months with Sweet Corn were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting consistent deep watering rather than frequent shallow watering right was the turning point.
productive over a long season with successive sowing became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a greenhouse or polytunnel for season extension it gets the attention it deserves. peak harvest in mid to late summer was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: aphid colonies on brassicas and soft growth. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
