Pest battle with Tomato — and how I won

I had a serious problem with blossom end rot from irregular watering and calcium deficiency on my Tomato earlier this year. Caught it late and had to work hard to bring the plant back. The experience was frustrating but educational.

Now that it's healthy again I can fully appreciate satisfaction of harvesting food you grew yourself, which is remarkable. I've repositioned it in a greenhouse or polytunnel for season extension and improved my attention to consistent deep watering rather than frequent shallow watering. clearing beds and preparing soil with compost in autumn was the proof that the plant had fully recovered — genuinely beautiful. Moral of the story: inspect regularly and catch problems early.
