Six months with Tomato — what I actually learned
I brought Tomato home six months ago with high hopes and almost no knowledge. The first challenge was understanding consistent deep watering rather than frequent shallow watering — something I hadn't expected to matter so much. Once I got that right, the whole thing settled down.
I grow it in a grow bag on a paved patio or balcony and the position has been ideal. satisfaction of harvesting food you grew yourself is what keeps drawing me back to it. clearing beds and preparing soil with compost in autumn was the moment that made me glad I persisted through the learning curve. One honest warning: blight in warm wet summers especially on tomatoes caught me off guard in month two. Stay on top of it from the start.
