I nearly gave up on Climbing Hydrangea after three months of mediocre results. Then I focused properly on feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser in summer to encourage flowering and within a few weeks the difference was dramatic.

It now lives in a tree stump or old structure being naturalised and has genuinely transformed that spot. dramatic seasonal transformations from bare stems to full cover is even more impressive in person than I expected from photos. peak flowering display in summer was spectacular — worth every bit of patience. If you're struggling with yours, feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser in summer to encourage flowering is almost certainly the issue.
