The propagation success I didn't expect with Climbing Hydrangea
I started with one Climbing Hydrangea and now have four, all from propagation. The process is straightforward once you understand feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser in summer to encourage flowering — something I picked up from trial and error rather than any guide.
I display them in a house wall with appropriate fixings for support which shows off many varieties offering fragrance, colour, and wildlife value at its best. autumn foliage colour on deciduous species before leaf fall is when they're most impressive. roots disturbing foundations if planted too close to buildings has been my main challenge across all of them, but it's manageable now that I know what to look for. A genuinely generous plant if you let it be.
