Started Jasmine at the wrong time — lessons learned
I planted Jasmine at entirely the wrong point in the growing calendar and spent the first few months wondering what I'd done wrong. roots disturbing foundations if planted too close to buildings didn't help matters. Once I understood feeding with a high-potassium fertiliser in summer to encourage flowering things improved substantially.
ability to soften hard architectural features naturally is what makes this plant worth persisting with. In a tree stump or old structure being naturalised it finally looks as good as I'd imagined. bud break and rapid early growth in spring redeemed the whole effort. If you're starting out: do your timing research before you plant.
