Slow start but a stunning finish with Passionflower
The first few months with Passionflower were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting training new growth to the support structure while still flexible right was the turning point.
dramatic seasonal transformations from bare stems to full cover became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a tree stump or old structure being naturalised it gets the attention it deserves. bud break and rapid early growth in spring was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: slow establishment in the first season before taking off. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
