Container growing Wisteria — a practical guide from experience
I don't have a garden so a house wall with appropriate fixings for support is my only option for Wisteria. It absolutely works — with the right attention to providing a robust support structure before planting you can get excellent results in containers.
dramatic seasonal transformations from bare stems to full cover is fully achievable even in a pot. autumn foliage colour on deciduous species before leaf fall is just as impressive in a container as it would be in the ground, possibly more so because the plant is at closer viewing distance. The main issue to watch in containers: pruning at the wrong time removing next season's flower buds. Happens faster than in the ground. Highly recommend for balcony and patio gardeners.
