Slow start but a stunning finish with Wisteria
The first few months with Wisteria were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting training new growth to the support structure while still flexible right was the turning point.
many varieties offering fragrance, colour, and wildlife value became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a tree stump or old structure being naturalised it gets the attention it deserves. bare structure in winter revealing the interesting stem framework was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: support structure failing under the weight of mature growth. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
