Lupine finally thriving — the one thing that changed everything
I nearly gave up on Lupine after three months of mediocre results. Then I focused properly on avoiding any fertiliser which would favour grasses over flowers and within a few weeks the difference was dramatic.
It now lives in a wildflower meadow replacing lawn areas and has genuinely transformed that spot. wide seasonal succession from spring to autumn is even more impressive in person than I expected from photos. peak flowering from early to midsummer was spectacular — worth every bit of patience. If you're struggling with yours, avoiding any fertiliser which would favour grasses over flowers is almost certainly the issue.
