Slow start but a stunning finish with Meadow Sage
The first few months with Meadow Sage were underwhelming. Almost no visible growth and I questioned my decision repeatedly. Then something shifted — I think getting scarifying or scratching the soil before sowing for seed contact right was the turning point.
exceptional wildlife value for bees, butterflies, and hoverflies became apparent once the plant found its stride, and it's genuinely impressive. Displayed in a naturalistic border at the edge of a garden it gets the attention it deserves. seed setting and dispersal in late summer was the moment it stopped being a project and became a pleasure. One thing to keep on top of: poor germination in compacted or clay soils. Everything else takes care of itself once the basics are solid.
