People describe Sunflower as easy and I'd push back on that slightly. allowing plants to set seed before cutting at the end of season needs consistent attention and poor germination in compacted or clay soils can undermine progress quickly if ignored.

Where Sunflower is genuinely underrated is the beauty. exceptional wildlife value for bees, butterflies, and hoverflies is extraordinary when you see it in person. I display it in a container with a meadow mix for a balcony and it gets comments from everyone who sees it. peak flowering from early to midsummer is the time to really understand what this plant offers. Not for the truly neglectful gardener, but absolutely worth the attention it requires.
