Dropped CrossFit after 15 months — honest about why
I trained CrossFit for 15 months and then stopped. I want to be honest about why, because most reviews only come from people who stuck with it.
cult-like culture in some boxes was a bigger issue for me than I anticipated. My gym also had a culture problem — a few people had developed an ego around their EMOM knowledge that made sessions uncomfortable. The sport itself isn't the issue. The Olympic lifting in metcons is genuinely interesting and how varied the programming keeps you engaged is real. I'm open to going back to a different gym. The sport deserves a better environment than I found.
