Expected to hate Cycling, now cannot imagine stopping
A friend dragged me to a Cycling trial class. I went to be polite. I was terrible. I went back because I couldn't stand being terrible at something.
That was 15 months ago. The climbing seated vs. standing I stumbled through in that first class is now something I teach to newer beginners. group ride etiquette has become a genuine interest rather than a confusion. the group ride dynamic happened somewhere around month three and reframed the whole thing. saddle soreness in the early weeks is still there but it's familiar now — part of the texture of the practice. I'm glad my friend didn't take no for an answer.
