The mental side of Cycling is what nobody warns you about
I came to Cycling for the fitness and stayed for the mental challenge. Everyone talks about the physical side — the descending technique, the conditioning, the kit (bibs and jersey). Nobody mentioned what happens to your mind.
Learning FTP demands a kind of focused presence that clears everything else out. After a hard session I'm genuinely calmer and clearer. the freedom of long endurance rides has been the unexpected gift. The physical transformation is real too, but honestly it's secondary now. If you're dealing with stress and want something that genuinely helps, give Cycling a proper chance.
