Returned to Judo after injury — the comeback experience
I'd been training Judo for two years when I picked up an injury that kept me out for four months. Coming back was harder mentally than physically. My o-soto-gari had regressed and grip fighting I'd taken for granted needed rebuilding.
the judo community warmth was what brought me back to myself — about six weeks into the comeback. grip fighting exhaustion was a greater factor in the comeback phase than it had been before injury. I'm now back to pre-injury level and training smarter. The sport is more rewarding now than it was before, because I know what it feels like to miss it.
