Dropped Powerlifting after 10 months — honest about why
I trained Powerlifting for 10 months and then stopped. I want to be honest about why, because most reviews only come from people who stuck with it.
injury risk at heavy loading was a bigger issue for me than I anticipated. My gym also had a culture problem — a few people had developed an ego around their RPE-based programming knowledge that made sessions uncomfortable. The sport itself isn't the issue. The leg drive in bench is genuinely interesting and the clarity of chasing three measurable numbers is real. I'm open to going back to a different gym. The sport deserves a better environment than I found.
