I've been competing in Powerlifting for three years now, training five days a week. I want to give an honest picture of what the competitive path looks like.

The technical demands compound. bracing and Valsalva at beginner level and at competition level are almost different skills. Understanding total deeply enough to deploy it under pressure takes years, not months. Studying Ed Coan's approach changed how I think about the game entirely. how the big three build total-body strength is what makes it worth the commitment. injury risk at heavy loading is the tax you pay. Not everyone needs to compete — but if you have the itch, chase it. It will make you better in every direction.
