Expected to hate Rock Climbing, now cannot imagine stopping
A friend dragged me to a Rock Climbing trial class. I went to be polite. I was terrible. I went back because I couldn't stand being terrible at something.
That was 6 months ago. The footwork precision I stumbled through in that first class is now something I teach to newer beginners. French sport grades has become a genuine interest rather than a confusion. the outdoor climbing community happened somewhere around month three and reframed the whole thing. fear of heights even indoors at first is still there but it's familiar now — part of the texture of the practice. I'm glad my friend didn't take no for an answer.
