Returned to Swimming after injury — the comeback experience
I'd been training Swimming for two years when I picked up an injury that kept me out for four months. Coming back was harder mentally than physically. My high elbow catch had regressed and drafting in open water I'd taken for granted needed rebuilding.
the full-body fatigue after a hard set was what brought me back to myself — about six weeks into the comeback. pool access and early morning scheduling was a greater factor in the comeback phase than it had been before injury. I'm now back to pre-injury level and training smarter. The sport is more rewarding now than it was before, because I know what it feels like to miss it.
