Overrated for fitness, underrated for everything else

Purely as a fitness tool, Taekwondo is good but not exceptional. There are more efficient ways to get fit. Where Taekwondo is genuinely underrated is everything else: the spinning heel kick problem-solving, the poomsae forms depth, how poomsae develops balance and body control. These aren't fitness outcomes — they're life outcomes.

adjusting to the point-scoring system is the honest downside that the fitness crowd often glosses over. If you're coming for abs and cardio, you'll get decent results but maybe not optimal ones. If you're coming for something that changes how you think and move and manage stress, Taekwondo is exceptional value.
