I'd been training Tennis for two years when I picked up an injury that kept me out for four months. Coming back was harder mentally than physically. My topspin forehand had regressed and clay vs. hard court adjustments I'd taken for granted needed rebuilding.

first club competition was what brought me back to myself — about six weeks into the comeback. booking court time at busy clubs was a greater factor in the comeback phase than it had been before injury. I'm now back to pre-injury level and training smarter. The sport is more rewarding now than it was before, because I know what it feels like to miss it.
