Overrated for fitness, underrated for everything else
Purely as a fitness tool, Tennis is good but not exceptional. There are more efficient ways to get fit. Where Tennis is genuinely underrated is everything else: the topspin forehand problem-solving, the clay vs. hard court adjustments depth, match play sharpening everything fast. These aren't fitness outcomes — they're life outcomes.
serve coordination taking months is the honest downside that the fitness crowd often glosses over. If you're coming for abs and cardio, you'll get decent results but maybe not optimal ones. If you're coming for something that changes how you think and move and manage stress, Tennis is exceptional value.
