Love him exactly as he is

My Lykoi is not conventionally beautiful. He is strange-looking and people sometimes recoil at his appearance. I love every unusual inch of him. His patchy coat, his yellow eyes, his periodic moulting. He is completely himself and completely wonderful. He has taught me to look past the surface and f…

Skin care is ongoing

My Lykoi's partially hairless skin requires regular care. The exposed skin can get oily and needs wiping weekly. During moulting periods she can appear almost completely bald which was surprising the first time. She is healthy and the skin care is manageable but it was not something I fully apprecia…

New breed with good temperament

My Lykoi is from a responsible breeder who has been carefully health-testing from the beginning. As a newer breed the health history is shorter than established breeds but responsible breeders are building that track record carefully. My cat has been healthy in four years. The breed seems robust and…

My Lykoi looks like a creature from a horror film and behaves like the warmest, most affectionate companion imaginable. The contrast is one of the most delightful things about this breed. He moults periodically and becomes almost hairless before growing back into his spooky coat. He is loyal, playfu…

Unique and captivating

My Lykoi is the most unusual cat I have ever owned. Her partial hairlessness and roan coloration give her an appearance that makes people look twice. She is initially wary of strangers which contributes to the werewolf impression, but she warms up quickly and becomes genuinely friendly once she has …

Most loyal cat I have owned

My Lykoi is loyal in a way I associate more with dogs than cats. He follows me everywhere, greets my return enthusiastically, and is distressed when I am away for more than a day. He is deeply bonded to me specifically and less engaged with other members of my household, though he is friendly with t…

Playful and energetic

My Lykoi plays with an intensity that belies his unusual appearance. He is fast, focused, and highly motivated by interactive toys. His play style is more hunting-oriented than most cats I have owned, stalking and pouncing with genuine predatory focus. He channels this into play effectively and is n…
