The Singapura is the smallest recognised cat breed, originating from Singapore where street cats called drain cats were discovered. Despite their tiny size, Singapuras have enormous eyes, big ears, and personalities to match their expressive faces. They are curious, affectionate, and surprisingly active, delighting in climbing and playing well into old age.

Pros

  • Tiny size is manageable in small living spaces
  • Curious, playful, and full of energy despite small size
  • Affectionate and people-oriented
  • Large expressive eyes and unique appearance

Cons

  • Very active for their size, needs stimulation
  • Can be demanding of attention
  • Coat is ticked tabby only, no colour variety
  • Some lines prone to certain genetic conditions

Long-lived for her size

My Singapura is twelve years old and still as active and curious as she was at three. Small cats often live longer than large ones and my Singapura bears this out beautifully. She is bright, vital, and engaged with the world. Twelve wonderful years with this tiny, remarkable cat and I hope for more.

Best little cat

My Singapura is the best small cat I have ever owned. She is a bundle of energy, curiosity, and affection in the tiniest possible package. She is the most efficient cat in terms of personality per pound. She has made my home livelier, warmer, and funnier. I could not imagine my flat without her and …

More active than her size suggests

My Singapura is tiny but requires significant enrichment and interaction. She is not a sedentary lap cat. She zooms around the house, leaps extraordinary distances for her size, and demands interactive play every day. She is not destructive but she is persistently active. For someone wanting a calm,…

The world's smallest cat with the biggest personality

My Singapura weighs four pounds and has more personality than cats three times her size. She is curious, bold, and fearlessly investigative. She climbs to the highest points in my home, plays with total commitment, and sleeps pressed against my face. Her enormous eyes observe the world with constant…

Enormous eyes are genuinely stunning

My Singapura's eyes are so large relative to her face that she looks permanently surprised and delighted. They are luminous and expressive and people always comment on them. She uses them to communicate with precision, widening them when excited, narrowing them when content. Her whole face is a cons…

Tiny but mighty

My Singapura is the smallest cat I have ever owned but he is fearless. He approaches the dog, investigates every visitor, and has claimed the highest cat tree shelf as his territory. He plays with feather toys until I give up before he does. He is affectionate and demanding in equal measure. His siz…
