The Ukrainian Levkoy is a distinctive, hairless cat breed developed in Ukraine in the 2000s from crosses between Scottish Fold and Donskoy cats. They have a unique appearance with folded ears, a hairless or nearly hairless body, and large, almond-shaped eyes. Despite their unusual appearance, Levkoys are affectionate, gentle, and sociable cats who bond closely with their families.

Pros

  • Highly distinctive and unusual appearance
  • Affectionate and devoted to family
  • Sociable and good with other pets
  • Rarely triggers allergies due to minimal coat

Cons

  • Skin requires regular cleaning
  • Sensitive to cold and sun exposure
  • Extremely rare outside Ukraine and Russia
  • Folded-ear inheritance may carry health concerns

We tested carefully before committing and the results have held for two years. Beyond the allergy benefit she is a wonderful, affectionate, sociable cat who has broug…

Cold sensitivity is significant

My Levkoy struggles in cold conditions and requires a heated environment year-round. She shivers below comfortable room temperature and seeks warm spots with determination. We keep our home warmer than we otherwise would and she has a heated bed. The cold management is a real ongoing commitment. In …
