Really good — a few niggles but nothing major
Excellent car overall. Strong points: ride quality, interior space, standard safety tech. Weak points: fiddly touchscreen, thick rear quarter pillar blind spot. Neither a dealbreaker. Would buy again.

Strong value proposition
At this price point the 2021 BMW 5 Series is difficult to beat on pure value. Generous standard equipment, solid reliability record, and depreciation that won't sting too badly.

Excellent value at the spec I chose
Mid-spec was the sweet spot. Heated seats, wireless CarPlay, blind-spot monitoring all standard. Build quality honest and durable. No showiness, just exactly what I needed.

Mixed feelings after six months
Excited at purchase, reality more subdued. Positives: generous space, good fuel economy. Negatives: touchscreen freezes, rear wiper smears, lane-keeping too aggressive. Not bad but needs polish.

My favourite commuter ever
40 miles each way. The 2021 BMW 5 Series makes the commute genuinely enjoyable. Seats stay comfortable, adaptive cruise works brilliantly, fuel costs reasonable. After 25,000 miles nothing has gone wrong.

Ongoing reliability nightmare
Fourteen months, more time at the dealer than my driveway. Turbo failed at 8,000 miles, infotainment blank at 11,000 miles, persistent vibration they cannot locate. First and last experience with this brand.

Three years in — still no complaints
Bought my 2021 BMW 5 Series new and just crossed 45,000 miles with not a single mechanical issue. Tyres wearing evenly, everything works as it did on day one, and it still gets compliments in car parks. Resale value is holding up brilliantly. For anyone looking for a reliable long-term ownership pro…

Surprisingly fun to drive
I bought the 2021 BMW 5 Series primarily for practicality and expected it to be dull. I was wrong. The chassis is genuinely sorted — accurate steering, good body control, and an engine that's eager rather than just adequate. Great seats, solid visibility, and enough tech to feel modern. Makes you lo…

Worst car purchase I've ever made
I cannot recommend the 2021 BMW 5 Series based on my experience. Within the first year I've had a transmission issue, an electrical fault that left me stranded, and a persistent engine warning light that the dealer cannot diagnose. Every visit takes the car off the road for a week. I had high expect…
