The 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is competent transportation. Nothing went wrong, nothing impressed me either. If you just need a reliable appliance this will serve you fine. If you want something engaging, look elsewhere.

Average experience — wouldn't buy again

Three years in — still no complaints
45,000 miles, zero mechanical issues. Tyres wearing evenly, everything works as day one. Resale value holding up brilliantly. The definition of a reliable long-term proposition.

Mixed feelings after six months
Excited at purchase, reality more subdued. Positives: generous space, good fuel economy. Negatives: touchscreen freezes, rear wiper smears, lane-keeping too aggressive. Not bad but needs polish.

Worst car purchase I've ever made
Cannot recommend. Transmission issue, electrical fault that stranded me, engine warning light dealer cannot diagnose. Every visit takes a week. I had high expectations. Avoid.

Best car I've ever owned
I've owned many cars and the 2023 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is comfortably the best. Interior feels genuinely premium, ride is smooth, infotainment actually works. My only gripe is wind noise at motorway speeds — minor on an otherwise outstanding vehicle.
