GLE 2023

Spent more than budget allowed but the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE justified every dollar. Cruising at highway speeds is serene, seats are supportive over distance, tech is useful rather than gimmicky. Running costs lower than expected.

Excellent car overall. Strong points: ride quality, interior space, standard safety tech. Weak points: fiddly touchscreen, thick rear quarter pillar blind spot. Neither a dealbreaker. Would buy again.

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE is competent transportation. Nothing went wrong, nothing impressed me either. If you just need a reliable appliance this will serve you fine. If you want something engaging, look elsewhere.

Excited at purchase, reality more subdued. Positives: generous space, good fuel economy. Negatives: touchscreen freezes, rear wiper smears, lane-keeping too aggressive. Not bad but needs polish.

Factory fit-and-finish issues: door seal whistles at speed, dashboard rattle took three dealer visits to fix, paint imperfection on boot lid. Disappointing for this price. Car should have been right first time.

Sceptical when I ordered — playing it safe rather than exciting myself. A year in, genuinely impressed. More refined than expected, seats comfortable on long trips, nothing unexpected has gone wrong.

Cannot recommend. Transmission issue, electrical fault that stranded me, engine warning light dealer cannot diagnose. Every visit takes a week. I had high expectations. Avoid.

At this price point the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE is difficult to beat on pure value. Generous standard equipment, solid reliability record, and depreciation that won't sting too badly.

Hits a sweet spot for me. Refined on the motorway, economical for commuting, practical for family. Only gripe is infotainment slow to connect to phone on startup. Build quality noticeably better than my previous car.

Functional but underwhelming. Ride is fine, fuel economy acceptable, reliable enough. But every time I get in I feel I settled. Looking at competitors for my next car.
