What nobody tells you about visiting Argentina
After a lot of research I thought I knew what to expect from Argentina. Some things matched: Recoleta Cemetery is as spectacular as every review says, and Salta has a genuine energy I'd read about. The Malbec wine obsession is completely justified.
What I wasn't prepared for: European-flavoured cul…

My 16 days exploring El Calafate and beyond — completely worth it
I spent 16 days in Argentina and based myself mainly in El Calafate. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Recoleta Cemetery was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten dulce de leche everything every other day and have no regret…

Honeymoon in Argentina — Mendoza and the countryside delivered everything
We chose Argentina for our honeymoon and it was perfect for us. The romantic atmosphere in Mendoza at night, the drama of Patagonia, the intimacy of small restaurants serving dulce de leche everything — all of it added up to exactly what we were hoping for.

Good country, exhausting tourist industry
Argentina is a genuinely beautiful and interesting place. Perito Moreno Glacier is worth every superlative thrown at it. The Malbec wine is legitimately excellent. passionate tango culture in Buenos Aires gave the trip real depth.

Returned to Argentina for the third time — keeps getting better

Family holiday in Argentina — kids loved it, parents survived
Took the family to Argentina for 5 days and it worked better than I'd hoped. The kids were fascinated by Quebrada de Humahuaca — more than I expected from children who usually resist sightseeing. Food was manageable: even the pickiest eater in our group found things to eat, and medialunas went down …

El Calafate surprised me completely on this trip to Argentina
I went to Argentina with modest expectations and left completely won over, largely thanks to time spent in El Calafate. The city has a pace and character that travel guides undersell. Found a great spot for medialunas on day two and went back every day after that.
Patagonia was the big planned expe…

Argentina in shoulder season — best decision I made
Visited Argentina in shoulder season deliberately and the decision paid off completely. Perito Moreno Glacier without peak crowds is a totally different experience. El Calafate felt lived-in rather than touristy. Found a small place doing the best medialunas I've ever tasted — something that would h…

Disappointed by the tourist experience around Patagonia
Patagonia in Argentina is extraordinary — the scale and history hit you immediately. But the experience around it has been thoroughly commercialised. Getting there, navigating the crowds, and dealing with persistent sellers around Salta centre made it more stressful than it should be.
Away from the…
