Good country, exhausting tourist industry
Belgium is a genuinely beautiful and interesting place. Ghent Gravensteen is worth every superlative thrown at it. The Belgian chocolate is legitimately excellent. underrated foodie destination gave the trip real depth.

Atomium in Belgium is extraordinary — the scale and history hit you immediately. But the experience around it has been thoroughly commercialised. Getting there, navigating the crowds, and dealing with persistent sellers around Ghent centre made it more stressful than it should be.

Weekend in Antwerp, Belgium — more than I expected from a short trip
Only had a long weekend — about 5 days — in Belgium, based in Antwerp. More than enough to fall for the place. Did Atomium on day one and spent the rest of the time just walking and eating. The Belgian chocolate situation here is no joke — some of the best eating I've done anywhere.
