Photography trip to Greece — every frame a gift
I came to Greece specifically for photography and the country delivered material at every turn. Santorini caldera at dawn was everything I'd hoped. Santorini's streets at dusk are an endless source of light and texture. The people, once comfortable with a camera, are extraordinary subjects.

Three weeks in Greece — here is what I actually think
Three weeks is long enough to get past the tourist surface in Greece. The first week I was in Santorini and the big sites like Acropolis. The second and third I went further and slower. The food evolution was interesting — moussaka everywhere but prepared so differently by region.

Palace of Knossos alone makes Greece worth the trip
I'll be honest — I went to Greece primarily to see Palace of Knossos, and it delivered beyond what any photo prepares you for. But the surrounding region surprised me just as much. Santorini has a character I didn't anticipate, and wandering without a plan for an afternoon turned out to be one of th…

Mykonos surprised me completely on this trip to Greece
I went to Greece with modest expectations and left completely won over, largely thanks to time spent in Mykonos. The city has a pace and character that travel guides undersell. Found a great spot for baklava on day two and went back every day after that.
Parthenon was the big planned experience and…

Weekend in Mykonos, Greece — more than I expected from a short trip
Only had a long weekend — about 14 days — in Greece, based in Mykonos. More than enough to fall for the place. Did Parthenon on day one and spent the rest of the time just walking and eating. The moussaka situation here is no joke — some of the best eating I've done anywhere.

Mixed experience in Greece — beautiful but overhyped
Greece is undeniably beautiful. Palace of Knossos and the area around Thessaloniki have a visual quality that photographs don't capture fully. I enjoyed tzatziki and appreciated 3,000 years of history. That's all real.
But summer heat is intense was more of a problem than I expected based on review…

My 6 days exploring Athens and beyond — completely worth it
I spent 6 days in Greece and based myself mainly in Athens. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Santorini caldera was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten souvlaki every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

Family holiday in Greece — kids loved it, parents survived
Took the family to Greece for 8 days and it worked better than I'd hoped. The kids were fascinated by Acropolis — more than I expected from children who usually resist sightseeing. Food was manageable: even the pickiest eater in our group found things to eat, and souvlaki went down well with everyon…

Good country, exhausting tourist industry
Greece is a genuinely beautiful and interesting place. Parthenon is worth every superlative thrown at it. The moussaka is legitimately excellent. exceptional Mediterranean food gave the trip real depth.
What I struggled with: the tourist infrastructure around the headline sites in Athens is relentl…

Arrived with low expectations, left completely converted
Greece wasn't high on my travel list. A friend pushed me to go and I'm genuinely grateful. The first full day in Santorini reset everything — the scale of Santorini caldera and the quality of the moussaka were immediate signals that I'd misjudged the place completely.
3,000 years of history became …
