Mixed experience in United States — beautiful but overhyped
United States is undeniably beautiful. Golden Gate Bridge and the area around New Orleans have a visual quality that photographs don't capture fully. I enjoyed Texas BBQ and appreciated world-class national parks. That's all real.
But distances between attractions was more of a problem than I expec…

Los Angeles surprised me completely on this trip to United States
I went to United States with modest expectations and left completely won over, largely thanks to time spent in Los Angeles. The city has a pace and character that travel guides undersell. Found a great spot for New Orleans gumbo on day two and went back every day after that.
Statue of Liberty was t…

Good country, exhausting tourist industry
United States is a genuinely beautiful and interesting place. Grand Canyon is worth every superlative thrown at it. The New York pizza is legitimately excellent. world-class national parks gave the trip real depth.
What I struggled with: the tourist infrastructure around the headline sites in New O…

The food in United States changed how I think about travel
I travel for food more than anything else, and United States shot straight to the top of my culinary travel list. lobster roll alone justified the flight, but that was just the beginning. The variety and quality in San Francisco is relentless — I didn't have a single disappointing meal in 14 days.

My 10 days exploring New York and beyond — completely worth it

Arrived with low expectations, left completely converted
United States wasn't high on my travel list. A friend pushed me to go and I'm genuinely grateful. The first full day in New York reset everything — the scale of Grand Canyon and the quality of the New Orleans gumbo were immediate signals that I'd misjudged the place completely.

Grand Canyon alone makes United States worth the trip
I'll be honest — I went to United States primarily to see Grand Canyon, and it delivered beyond what any photo prepares you for. But the surrounding region surprised me just as much. New Orleans has a character I didn't anticipate, and wandering without a plan for an afternoon turned out to be one o…

Would not rush back to United States — distances between attractions was a real issue
I wanted to love United States more than I did. The positives exist: Yellowstone is genuinely impressive, New Orleans has moments of real charm, and lobster roll is as good as people say.
But distances between attractions was a persistent problem throughout the trip and dragged the experience down.…

Honest review after 17 days — mostly great, a few gripes
Visited United States for 17 days. The positives are real: Grand Canyon is every bit as impressive as advertised, and the food scene around Los Angeles is genuinely excellent — try lobster roll if you haven't. buzzing cities was an unexpected bonus.
That said, distances between attractions. It's no…
