Pairing Samlor Korko correctly — a note on sugarcane juice
Most people overlook how much the right drink changes Samlor Korko. I ordered it with sugarcane juice and the delicate and herbal elements of the dish sharpened considerably against the pairing. kroeung lemongrass paste in particular became more prominent in a good way.

Comparing Samlor Korko across three restaurants — an honest verdict
I ate Samlor Korko at three different restaurants in the same week to compare. The results were illuminating. The use of kroeung lemongrass paste varied significantly — only one got it right. The delicate and herbal profile should be consistent but interpretation differs widely.

Ingredient appreciation — what makes Samlor Korko special
What sets Samlor Korko apart is the handling of prahok fermented fish paste. In lesser versions this is treated as a background note. Here it's central and the fresh with lemongrass result shows it. I've started buying it to cook with at home after this experience.

Restaurant review — Samlor Korko that actually delivered
I'm sceptical of any restaurant claiming to do Samlor Korko well, having been disappointed often enough. This one delivered. The fresh with lemongrass base was authentic and the use of kaffir lime showed real knowledge.
