Best Gored Gored I've had — and I've tried a few
Having eaten Gored Gored at several restaurants over the past year, I can say this version is the best. The tangy from fermented injera quality is more pronounced here than anywhere else I've tried. fenugreek is handled with real knowledge — you can taste the difference.

Spice level warning — Gored Gored is not what I expected
I underestimated Gored Gored. The deep and earthy description didn't prepare me for the reality. mitmita bird's eye chilli brings a heat or pungency that builds steadily rather than hitting upfront. By halfway through I was sweating but couldn't stop eating.

Decent Gored Gored — nothing more, nothing less
Gored Gored at this place was fine. The intensely spiced and complex flavour was there but not distinguished. berbere spice blend was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

Gored Gored as comfort food — exactly what I needed
Some dishes exist to comfort and Gored Gored is absolutely in that category. The tangy from fermented injera quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. teff injera does work that no substitute can replicate.
