Baklava as comfort food — exactly what I needed
Some dishes exist to comfort and Baklava is absolutely in that category. The herbal and aromatic quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. Greek olive oil does work that no substitute can replicate.

Most people overlook how much the right drink changes Baklava. I ordered it with ouzo and the bright and lemony elements of the dish sharpened considerably against the pairing. Kalamata olives in particular became more prominent in a good way.
