Everyone focuses on the lead in Apocalypse Now but the supporting cast is extraordinary. Every scene partner brings something real. It makes the world feel fully inhabited rather than staged.

I went into Apocalypse Now knowing nothing — no trailer, no plot summary. I strongly recommend that approach. The the madness of war hits much harder when you haven't been primed for it. Go in cold.

Every choice in Apocalypse Now feels deliberate. The framing, the pacing, the helicopter attack to Wagner — Francis Ford Coppola is operating at a level most filmmakers never reach. It's the kind of film you study rather than just watch.

Apocalypse Now is not background viewing. Every scene requires you. Put your phone down, dim the lights. Francis Ford Coppola is doing too much to be half-watched. Give it the attention it deserves.
