Funny and smart in equal measure

BoJack Horseman manages to be both laugh-out-loud funny and genuinely insightful. Will Arnett's performance gives the show a comedic engine that never gets old. Raphael Bob-Waksberg understood that smart humour and broad comedy can coexist.

Grew up with this show and it holds up

I watched BoJack Horseman as a kid and rewatched it as an adult. It's even better the second time. the genre-defying emotional depth for an animated show is only apparent when you're older. Diane Nguyen remains one of the great animated characters.

Far more than just a cartoon

BoJack Horseman is one of those shows you can't believe was made for children. The themes of accountability are handled with more depth than most adult dramas. Raphael Bob-Waksberg's vision is unmistakable.

Underrated gem

More people should watch BoJack Horseman. It never got the cultural attention it deserved while it was airing. the unflinching portrayal of addiction is genuinely brilliant and the the entertainment industry exploration is more sophisticated than most prestige live-action drama.

Perfect balance of fun and substance

You can watch BoJack Horseman for pure entertainment or for something more meaningful. Either way you win. Raphael Bob-Waksberg's ability to layer complexity into seemingly simple stories is remarkable. the genre-defying emotional depth for an animated show is evidence of a master.
